There are many nights that my mind just races as I’m trying to go to sleep. I have the previous day’s events running through my head, and my next day’s to-do list is usually running through my mind. Try as I might, sometimes I just can’t stop my mind from racing when I’m trying to get to sleep!
That is… until I started using Peace and Calming oil at night!! The first night I tried it, I’ll admit I was skeptical. I first tried to apply it topically. I felt a definite shift in my thoughts, and I felt much calmer. A lot of people have great results with topical application. But for me, after about 5 minutes or so, the effect wore off.
So next I poured a drop into my hand and rubbed my palms together. I cupped my hands over my nose and mouth and inhaled deeply 5-6 times. Then when I laid down, I tried to keep my hands on my pillow, up by my face, while I was falling asleep. Again, the super-calm feeling returned!
This is going to sound weird, but it’s as if I could normally see my brain waves moving up and down over and over and OVER. But when smelling the Peace and Calming, my brain waves seemed to drop to a flat line!
So I moved my hands away so I wasn’t smelling the oil, and again my mind started racing. But moving them back up by my face so I could inhale the oil, my mind instantly shut down. It is by far one of the craziest sensations I have experienced with the oils!
Now I sleep with my bottle of Peace and Calming on my nightstand. :) If I know I have a lot on my mind and may have trouble falling asleep, I drop the oil into my palm and fall asleep with my hands up on my pillow. Or if I wake up in the middle of the night with my mind in overdrive, I just grab my bottle of oil, pour a drop into my hands, and inhale.
Peace and Calming is definitely one of my favorite oils!
